A snapped cambelt causes instant, catastrophic engine damage. Always replace at the manufacturer's recommended interval — usually every 40,000–60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first. We always fit a complete kit including new tensioners, idlers, and water pump (where applicable).

We strongly recommend it — the labour cost of accessing both is very similar, and a water pump failure requiring re-entry would cost far more.
